The Reichstag building in Berlin has traditionally housed the German parlaiment. The building was heavily damaged in World War II. The Reichstag sat vacant during most of the cold war, and was refurbished and given a glass dome cupola after the unification of Berlin. The inscription on the front entrance reads "To The German People."
